It's taken me far to long to pick up this international best seller.. an imposing volume for one with little time. However, from the very first sentence I was beyond intrigued, and by the end of the first page.. I was literally hooked. Only a few chapters in I find myself deeply ensconced in the characters, the scent and colour, and the remarkable ability of the author to transport me to another world.. the Bombay underbelly. So far, so impressed.
I'm left wondering what took me.
